hi,

we are in the middle of an upgrade from 1.7 to 5.X ..
I was reading about ingest node, and I have a question
Is there an advantage for using it, even if I'm not going to use any processor for manipulating the data?

currently we have an ETL server which manipulates the data, and sends it to elastic using bulk insert

thanks
Lior

Ingest is a feature which can run in a node where node.ingest is true (default).

It's not a dedicated node where the indexing operation happens but just transformation of your docs.

If you don't want to transform your source docs through an ingest pipeline, then no need to use this feature.
