# Input file path wildcard is not working

Hello all,

input file path wildcard is not working,  
As I remember, logstash 6.5.4 don't have the proble,  
while currently 7.6.2 encounter this problem,  
what could be the reason?

Not working:

> ```
> input {
> file {
> path => "/home/abc/xyz/*.csv"
> start_position => "beginning"
> mode => "read"
> }
> }
> 
> ```

Working:

> ```
> input {
> file {
> path => "/home/abc/xyz/data.csv"
> start_position => "beginning"
> mode => "read"
> }
> }
> 
> ```

I am not sure about why \* is not working in logstash, but you can use filebeat to read files by giving same path and send it to logstash.
