# Install Elastic Agent as Windows Service - Install in Powershell stops, no reaction

Hello,

If I install elastic agent on a Windows VM via Powershell, nothing happens.

I have downloaded the zip previously and unzipped it before I tried to install it.

The cursor blinks, however nothing happen. I think, it is waiting in background to get a “y” or an “n”, the question is not indicated therefore I cannot, press a key …

If I simply install the exe from Windows Explore, it works. It is however not installed as service.

Does somebody have an idea, how to install Windows Agent correctly?
