# Installed kibana and elasticsearch from archive

Hi Team,

I have installed kibana and elasticsearch version 6.3.2 from archive.  
Now I want to update them to latest stable version.  
How can I update both my packages, I don't want to lost my data from elastic, report and dashboard from kibana.

Please suggest a method to update my archives

You need to update Elasticsearch before updating Kibana version as per

You can make an Elasticsearch snapshot to back up your data before starting the update process
