# Installing and working with Elastic Maps Service

I need to make use of Regional and Country maps in Elasticsearch. For that how do I install Elastic Maps Service?

The Maps service is something we provide. You can host your own maps and serve them to Kibana if you want.

We have some blog posts on how to do that.

I do not have own maps right now. I need to do basic things only like showing coordinates on the maps as locations. Which is working fine with visualizations. But to do something as described below:

I can't find the ' 1. If you haven’t already, open **Maps**. 2. On the maps list page, click **Create map**.' option in Kibana.  
To create and add layers in Kibana what exactly do I need to do? And to change zoom functionality to work by mouse scroll and not depend on + or - button click etc.
