# Is it possible to install multiple agents concurrently on the same host?

Hi,

We are planning to start monitoring our appliances (Windows server based) installed at customers sites using elastic-agent. However, some of our clients have their own elastic-agent already running on our appliance, is it possible to run a second agent of our own next to our clients agent on the same host?

As documented at [Install Elastic Agents | Fleet and Elastic Agent Guide [8.13] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/fleet/8.13/elastic-agent-installation.html), it is not possible to have multiple Agents installed on the same system:

### Restrictions

Note the following restrictions when installing Elastic Agent on your system:

- You can install only a single Elastic Agent per host. Due to the fact that the Elastic Agent may read data sources that are only accessible by a superuser, Elastic Agent will therefore also need to be executed with superuser permissions.
