# Is it possible to keep max 5GB for logs but to delete old continously?

Dear all, I am a novice to Kibana. I made it run bit now I wonder how I can limit the storage kibana and elasticseach use for log data AND how I can delete old logs automatically so new ones can be added. The goal is to maintain const 5GB automatically of storage usage.

You will want to check out [Index Lifecycle Management](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/index-lifecycle-management.html) which will allow you to configure how much data to keep based on size or time.
