I'd like to be able to measure the load on the cluster by index. Is this possible? Or is it even possible on a particular node to see which indexes are generating the most load (I/O, cpu, JVM, etc.)

Thanks

You can't measure the IO per index easily. Have a look at the [index stats](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/indices-stats.html) for some stats that we can measure. Mostly it is "time spent" measurements which doesn't tell if the time is spent waiting for information to be pages into memory or what.
