# Is it possible to open the actual file with kibana

hi,
i was wondering, is there any way to open the actual log file which the event originated from ?
for example i have a log with exceptions , and i want to be able to open tha actual logs in order to see the line above and under the exception aswell

No it's not.
There's a feature request to show events surrounding a found even though, eg the event and surrounding like you want. I can't find it at the moment though sorry.

thanks for your reply , i found the request myself
do you think that in the upcoming elastic stack v.5 this feature will be availble
cuze without it , kibana is pretty usless in our company
