# Is it possible to restore data with logging-es directory?

Hi,

I have logging-es directory(previous data) and started a new es container with clean storage. Is it possible to restore data from the backup data?

Thanks for reply. sorry for the insufficient information.

The directory has all es data. It looks like following:

```auto
$pwd
/elasticsearch/persistent/logging-es/data/logging-es/nodes/0

$ls 
_state	indices node.lock

```

When ElasticSearch deploy, the folder is created and data will be stored in here.

is it understandable ?

If not, please let me know.
