# Is it possible to show prefix in suggester from different index?

In documents if I store some strings in prefix field then they are being shown in suggestions but if I want to show prefix from other index, can it be done and how?

Not getting any answer can mean 2 things IMO:

- No one knows.
- Your question is not clear enough.

In case it's the later, I'd suggest to reformulate your question and even better give an example. Well formatted [as per instructions on this forum](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/about-the-elasticsearch-category/21/1) if you want to increase your chances to get an answer.
