# Is it possible to write the index under restoring?

I'm now using ES version 7.10.0.  
I suppose the indices under restoring are forbidden to write then, how is the documents of the indices which is occured while restoring dealt with?

A restore is akin to a recovery. During that time the index will not be editable.

Then, the documents occured while restoring are written in the index after the index is restored, right?
