# Is there a way to force a replica to become primary?

Like my title suggested. Is it possible?  
My cluster has a rebalancing error where 1 primary shard is stuck in relocating state and I can't recover it.  
I'm hoping to force the replica to become the primary and configure the replica to 0 then back to 1.  
Is this possible?
