# Is there a way to recover kibana\_x file?

Is there any possibility to recover from lost kibana\_x index?

```auto
[opc@elasticsearch-2 ~]$ curl -XGET http://localhost:9200/_cat/shards/.kibana_7.12.0_001
.kibana_7.12.0_001 0 p UNASSIGNED    
.kibana_7.12.0_001 0 r UNASSIGNED

```

Not unless you have a snapshot sorry to say. Also please note Elasticsearch 7.12 is [EOL](https://www.elastic.co/support/eol) and no longer supported, you should be looking to upgrade as a matter of urgency.
