I was just exploring this new extension of ES and Kibana, I am curious to know is it free ?

Hey Vikas,

You can try out X-Pack for free using our 30-day trial license today. Starting with 5.0, we introduced X-Pack for the ease of our users using our plugins, you can read for more details in the documentation [here](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/x-pack/v5.0.0-alpha5-docs/xpack-introduction.html).

After the trial license expires, you can continue to use X-Pack Monitoring (formerly Marvel) free at basic license level without the multi-cluster support and fixed data retention policy. For more subscription information, check our subscription [here](https://www.elastic.co/subscriptions).

We recently released [5.0 alpha 5](https://www.elastic.co/downloads/x-pack) - check it out and let us know what you think as well.

I got the answer , it is free only for 30 days then we have to purchase.
