# Is X\_Pack free license applicable for enterprises?

I would like to know if X-Pack free licensing (monitoring only) is applicable for both personal and enterprise production use.

No it is not free elastic only provides trial licence for 30 days I guess.you can check this

Yes. The basic license can be used in enterprises: [https://www.elastic.co/subscriptions](https://www.elastic.co/subscriptions)

@vikas_gopal basic license is free

how can I get the free basic license? should I download the license.json and then update it?
