# Java 7 support drop dates

Hi,
apm-agent-java is still supporting Java 7.
Can I know if there is a plan in the future to drop the support and make the lowest supported version to be Java 8?

Hi,
For now the date at which we will drop support for Java 7 is not known yet.
Can you clarify a bit the context in which you are interested in this ?
- do you have a Java7 application for which support is needed in the future
- do you worry about choosing the Java7 artifact and having to migrate to the Java 8 one later ?
If you are on a Java 8+ application, you can use any of those.
