# JavaScript 'undefined' Error

In commons.bundle.js:39568 I will occasionally receive the following error when trying to add a filter from a saved search within a Dashboard:

Error: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'fieldName')

Has anyone else ever experienced this issue?

I'm using Kibana Version 4.4.0, Build 9689.

I've noticed that the issue appears to go away if I 'pin' some of the filters in my search.

If you haven't modified the product in any way, this seems like a bug, or at least an error that could be better handled. I'd report it on Github and see what the devs say. [https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues)
