# Kafka Output - idempotent producer?

I can see from Logstash logs that `enable.idempotence=false` by default. How do I set the value to true?

I don't think that changing this value is supported, it is present in the [documentation](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-outputs-kafka.html#plugins-outputs-kafka-options) and it is not present in the [code](https://github.com/logstash-plugins/logstash-integration-kafka/blob/562b625ca16c81e182ea61f61bea278dfa94284a/lib/logstash/outputs/kafka.rb#L330-L358).
