# Kibana and x-pack basic license

After the initial **x-pack** trial expired, I have updated the cluster x-pack license to **basic** which should include basic monitoring. After some days of doing that, the section that shows kibana monitoring vanished and now only the elasticsearch cluster health is showing there. Does the **basic** monitoring license of x-pack include only the elasticsearch cluster health and neither kibana neither logstash monitoring are part of it?. Or does the kibana license needs to be updated separately? If so I haven't been able to find how in the documentation

Ok it is back after restarting kibana. We had some issues last friday and seems that kibana xpack never connected back to the cluster. As we had updated the license and the monitoring for elastic was showing without problems we thought it might have had to do with the license but not
