# Kibana backs up only first 100 of each object type

When using Kibana's built-in way to export searches/dashboards/visualizations, I found that the output json, once imported, only appears to backup the first 100 objects of a type (I had over 300 visualizations, but only 100 were restored). Is there a way to make kibana backup all objects of all object types or do we have to resort to external backup methods like backing up the .kibana index?

Which version are you using? This was recently fixed in master and will be in 4.2:
