# KIBANA error : meta\_fields

I am getting an error "

child "meta\_fields" fails because ["meta\_fields" must be an array]  
" in kibana.

How to solve this issue?

Can you give us more information?  
What are you trying to do, what is the `meta_fields` field like, what version of Kibana are you using?

We just upgraded the version of kibana to "6.0.1"

The detailed error is this:

Error: child "meta\_fields" fails because ["meta\_fields" must be an array]

at Scope.$apply (URL/\_plugin/kibana/bundles/commons.bundle.js?v=16108:39:24520)  
at done (URL/\_plugin/kibana/bundles/commons.bundle.js?v=16108:38:9495)  
at completeRequest (URL/\_plugin/kibana/bundles/commons.bundle.js?v=16108:38:13952)  
at XMLHttpRequest.xhr.onload (URL/\_plugin/kibana/bundles/commons.bundle.js?v=16108:38:14690)

I deleted an index and then created a new one. That is when I got this error on the top of discover page.
