# Kibana HTTPS with Search Guard

Hello Guys,

I installed ElasticSearch and Search Guard which was successful. I am able to access ES using HTTPS ( [https://localhost:9200](https://localhost:9200)). I have integrated Kibana with Search Guard however there are no settings for Kibana HTTPS. Do I need to apply XPack security for KIbana by generating the Elasticsearch tools? Thanks

I don't think you can use both.  
I'd switch to the standard distribution of elasticsearch where you now have some security features and many other goodies like maps, canvas, logs UI...

Yes, one cannot use both however the certificates generated by Elasticsearch can be used to enable HTTPS on Kibana when using SearchGuard. This solved my challenge.
