# Kibana lens visualizations nested in dashboard unable to sort ascending/descending

I'm currently using Kibana for work and have been creating visualizations using the new lens feature. I noticed that once I nest the new visualization in a dashboard, I am unable to sort the fields either ascending or descending. Visualizations created the old way with buckets still have the sort drop down once nested. If I navigate to the visualization directly I can sort there as well. Is there a configuration that needs to be changed on my end? Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi @technobrom ,

welcome to the Kibana community.

Lens data table offers the sorting feature only within the editor and not in dashboard.  
There are already a couple of issues related to this feature request you can track, in particular [this one](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/72437) for sorting and more when in dashboard.
