# Kibana not giving results when checking using \*, Also need help in Scripted field

You can try extracting a number with either a regex, like in this example - [https://www.elastic.co/blog/using-painless-kibana-scripted-fields](https://www.elastic.co/blog/using-painless-kibana-scripted-fields)  
or split your string and extract the second array cell, like in this example - [Using painless script split(string) don't work](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/using-painless-script-split-string-dont-work/90215/4)
