# Kibana not running as service but systemctl showing as active

Hi,

I am using Kibana V5.4 on RHEL 7. When I do "systemctl status kibana.service" it is showing active but not on "service kibana status".

Also please let me know do I want to run kibana as root or normal is user is fine.

[user@fluentd ~]$ sudo service kibana status

[user@fluentd ~]$ sudo systemctl status kibana.service

Hey @siranjeevi when you installed Kibana, it was only installed as a `systemd` service so you'll only see it running with systemctl. It's recommended to run Kibana as the dedicated `kibana` user, and this is enabled by default if you installed Kibana with `yum install kibana` by `/etc/systemd/system/kibana.service`
