# Kibana not starting after upgrade from 5.3.2 to 5.6

I have just upgraded my kibana from 5.3.2 to 5.6.

```
monitoring-server@monitoring-server:~$ sudo service kibana status
● kibana.service - Kibana
   Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/kibana.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
   Active: active (running) since Fri 2017-09-15 14:25:41 UTC; 2s ago
 Main PID: 15394 (node)
    Tasks: 6
   Memory: 49.2M
      CPU: 1.048s
   CGroup: /system.slice/kibana.service
           └─15394 /usr/share/kibana/bin/../node/bin/node --no-warnings /usr/share/kibana/bin/../src/cli -c /etc/kibana/kibana.yml

Sep 15 14:25:41 monitoring-server systemd[1]: Started Kibana.

```

It is showing that it is running.

But

```
monitoring-server@monitoring-server:~$ sudo netstat -ntlp | grep 5601
monitoring-server@monitoring-server:~$ 

```

It shows nothing.

Therefore, nginx is showing bad gateway.

What is the problem here ?

Do you sure kibana is running on port 5601?  
Pls try

> ps -aux | grep kibana

You will see port kibana is running.  
Or you can start kibana manual with debug log console

> /usr/share/kibana/bin/kibana
