Hey,

I post here you never know. I am currently setting up ELK in order to monitor logs which are stored on an rsyslog server.

I installed Elasticsearch correctly, but without a complicated dashboard. Now I am looking to install and configure Kibana in order to report my log alerts on a management machine via a dashboard.

When I try to connect to dashnoard via a browser, it gives me an error message "kibana server is not ready yet". Thanks to loacalhost, I had access to the manual configuration of kibana but it was impossible to continue further because I had to configure kibana.yml. I touched this file and when doing a reload my service only displayed this message on the web browser.

Could anyone help me on this subject.

Sincerely,
Mat3

Hi @Mat3,

Welcome! I'm not sure if you resolved your issue, but I would recommend checking the topic with the same title under common fixes which should give you some pointers on how to debug this issue:

Check Elasticsearch connectivity From your Kibana host, run curl -XGET es-ip-or-hostname:9200/, you should see a response like; { "name" : "randomname", "cluster\_name" : "randomname", "cluster\_uuid" : "randomuuid", "version" : { "number" : "7.8.0", "build\_flavor" : "default", "build\_type" : "docker", "build\_hash" : "757314695644ea9a1dc2fecd26d1a43856725e65", "build\_date" : "2020-06-14T1…

Hope that helps!
