# Kibana Service Not Stopping

when you do `cat /var/run/kibana.pid` is you pid the same that the one who is running ? I think I had quite the same issue then yours [my issue](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/when-restarting-my-machine-kibana-pid-file-is-removed-automatically/143686)
