# Kibana UI features

Hi

Version 6.5.3

I was wondering why the following nice features are not available through kibana UI:

- snapshot and restore
- shrinking, splitting, ..

Hi @raulk89,

I believe it's just a matter of time and prioritization, but from what I can tell some of the mentioned features are being considered already and may be implemented in the future (likely not 6.x releases, but I'm sure you'll see lots of new Elasticsearch Management UI features in the 7.x releases).

I'd encourage you to follow [Elasticsearch UI issues](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22%3AElasticsearch+UI%22+) in Kibana repository.

Ok, thanks.

Just wondering when the 7.x will be released..? (I mean is it a matter of weeks, months or year's time)  
(I know that 7.0.0-alpha1 was released in november, how long it will usually take for beta and GA releases)

The dates aren't strict and are changed from time to time, so don't want to misinform you. But you can use this link [https://www.elastic.co/downloads/past-releases](https://www.elastic.co/downloads/past-releases) to see the time frames for 6.0.0 alpha1/alpha2/beta/RC and GA. For 7.0 it should be around the same.
