# Kibana Uncaught TypeError

We are running Kibana 5.3 on RedHat Enterprise Server version 7. I installed Kibana from the RPM repository and installed the x-pack plugin. Kibana starts and is running on the server. Opening Kibana in a web browser results with

> Error: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'call' of undefined ([http://10.241.52.8:5601/bundles/commons.bundle.js?v=14823:1](http://10.241.52.8:5601/bundles/commons.bundle.js?v=14823:1))

I removed the kibana x-pack plugin, then configured a shell for the kibana user. I reinstalled the x-pack plugin running as the kibana user, and now Kibana starts as expected, and I can log in.
