# Kibana Visualize doesn't allow to aggregate any field other than \_type

Hi

I've installed ES and Kibana 5.3, populated them with data and created an index. I am able to see all the fields (located in the JSON under \_source), however, when I try to visualize, I am unable to choose any field other than \_type. Does anyone know what might am I be doing wrong?

Hi there, it looks like the fields aren't indexed as searchable and aggregatable. Here are a couple previous posts in which users solved the same kind of problem:
