# Kibana3 - elasticsearch 0.20 - too old

Hi,
Is there a way (config, parameter) to setup kibana3 to use nevertheless an
older version of ES (0.20) ?
Alert appearing in the browser --\> Upgrade Required Your version of
Elasticsearch is too old. Kibana requires Elasticsearch 0.90.9 or above.

Unfortunately the Kibana source code uses an elasticsearch Javascript
library that is continually updated to newer versions of ES APIs. So your
best bet is probably to upgrade ES or go back to and older Kibana.
