# Kv filter - bracket removal in the field

Hi All,

Iam trying to remove the brackets in the value

but am not sure how to do it is it like this or something else

```auto
  kv {
 remove_char_value => "[]"
  include_brackets => true
       }
     }

```

Look at the example in the docs... [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-filters-kv.html#plugins-filters-kv-remove\_char\_value](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-filters-kv.html#plugins-filters-kv-remove_char_value)

You should notice that brackets are escaped.
