We tried to run the following upgrade:

Change size from ~~15 GB~~ to 29 GB RAM

The result was:

> Finished 2 hours ago and took an hour, but ultimately failed

Here's a partial view of the log

We now seem to have both our old and new instances running, and we're not sure what will happen to new data which we add to the system — whether it will be added to the new instances, or the old instances, or both, or neither.

What can we do to clean this up without risking data loss?

Hi @Edward_Genochio, Welcome to our community forums!

Is this issue related to one of your deployment in Elasticsearch Service? If yes, could you [open a support case](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/cloud/current/ec-get-help.html#ec_how_do_i_open_a_support_case) with our team?

Thank you.
