# Ldap xpack is it free or paid and is there a clear steps for that

I am trying to configure ldap authentication in our elastcisearch server, issue is I am not sure if this free or paid as part of x-pack and where is the steps for such configuration.

LDAP integration requires a commercial license. You can see exactly which features a part of the free basic license on the [subscriptions page](https://www.elastic.co/subscriptions).
