# License in Test and Prod environment \[Solved\]

Hy,
I installed x-pack on my testsystem and gave it the basic license.
I should install it in our prodsystem as well. Can I use the same license or should I get a new one?
Sorry for asking that silly, but I couldn't find anything regarding that on the website.

Hi Andreas,
This is a good question! For our gold/platinum subscription customers, we issue both test/dev and production licenses, however for the Basic license, there isn't an equivalent concept, so feel free to use the same Basic license on your production and non-production clusters.
