Is there any way to get all of the currently available types/indices

This should help: [Elasticsearch Platform — Find real-time answers at scale | Elastic](http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/reference/api/admin-indices-get-mapping/)
curl -XGET '[http://localhost:9200/\_mapping](http://localhost:9200/_mapping)'
