# Logstash 5.5 and elasticsearch 1.7.6

I am in the process of upgrading our elastic stack.
I wanting to upgrade logstash first.
Can logstash 5.5 output to elasticsearch 1.7.6 and is there any gotchas i should worry about?

Elasticsearch 1.7.6 isn't supported at all anymore, technically the support matrix is "what is supported" I want to know if it works, I could care less if its supported. I will just test it and see what happens.
