# Logstash avro codec - adding support for stripping magic byte and schema id

Over at [https://github.com/logstash-plugins/logstash-codec-avro/pull/20](https://github.com/logstash-plugins/logstash-codec-avro/pull/20) I submitted a pull request against the avro codec to strip off the magic byte and schema id. I was hoping to get some eyeballs on the PR and move it along. Let me know if I need to provide anything else. Thanks.
