# Logstash config JDBC Password

Hi,

Would like to know whether can use environmental variables to get the username and password for JDBC plugin in log stash config file?

Or what is the safest way to pass the password to JDBC connection?

Are there any other approach to protect the JDBC username and password apart from reading environment variables?
