Environment:

Logstash `5.6.3`
Elastic `5.5`

We have been seeeing lot of error messages in logstash logs lately. Not sure what the issue is. Please provide some pointers.

It appears Elasticsearch returned a 500 error (internal server error). Check the ES logs for clues.

I ended up using this plugin [https://github.com/awslabs/logstash-output-amazon\_es](https://github.com/awslabs/logstash-output-amazon_es) in favor of [https://github.com/logstash-plugins/logstash-output-elasticsearch](https://github.com/logstash-plugins/logstash-output-elasticsearch) and adjusted `pipeline.batch.size` to fit our needs. Works like a charm without a single error.

I believe this solution fits well for ES running in AWS.
