Hi team,

I configured logstash to read to read /var/log/app/app.log file and it is able to read and send logs but data is not continuous. Is there any way to monitor file watcher in logstash.

Like HARVESTER in filebeat.

Regards,
Gangi Reddy

@gangireddy_l

The Logstash File Input watches a file like [Tail Mode](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-inputs-file.html#_tail_mode).

You can configure logstash to start at the [beginning](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-inputs-file.html#plugins-inputs-file-start_position) of the file and [sincedb](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-inputs-file.html#plugins-inputs-file-sincedb_path) track progress.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Rich
