# LogStash: how many events per second do they handle?

Hello Folks,

I already found a lot of documents about Logstash. However, I did not find the  
information of how many events per second does logstash handle ?

Obviously, it depends of the cluster and the size of the event. Let's  
pretend that all events are json file of 10 lines. Futhermore, let's  
have a cluster of 3 nodes with a 8 Gb RAM for instance.

Do you know if there is a formula or a range of events handled per second ?

Logstash instances don't form clusters so I'm not sure what you mean here. Are you by any chance talking about Elasticsearch?

No, there's no formula.

You're right, I know that Logstash doesn't work in cluster. I just did a mistake when a copy paste my question..very sorry
