# Logstash index format interpreted literally

` codec => rubydebug` will only print on screen.

If you want it to store in files, you will have to use file plugin

```auto
output {
 file {
   path => /tmp/my_output_text_file
   codec => rubydebug { metadata => true }
 }
}

```
