# Logstash License

Hi,

Logstash is still covered by Elastic License v1 (ELv1) which has more restrictions than Elastic License v2 (ELv2):

> <https://github.com/elastic/logstash/blob/main/licenses/ELASTIC-LICENSE.txt>

But Elasticsearch and Kibana are already migrated to ELv2.

Is there any plan for migrating Logstash to ELv2?

There's currently no plan to migrate to the V2 license.

Is there any specific reason you are asking this?

Thanks for confirming. I just wanted to check. We're using Logstash internally and we should be able to work with the current license.
