# Logstash linkage between input and output

Hi  
list experts  
Can anyone describe me in details, how logstash choose/link outputs ( among many output sections) for inputs that we had already defined ?

The events from all inputs will be passed through all filters and will thereafter reach all outputs. The only way to affect this flow is to have conditionals (`if ... { ... }`) around filters or outputs.

Thanks for the reply and co-incidentally i have also read the same thread which is [[solved] Multiple logstash config file](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/solved-multiple-logstash-config-file/51692)

I have been able to debug the configuration error using the command # cat /etc/logstash/conf.d/\* \> /tmp/total.conf
