# Logstash monitoring - Allow custom settings

Hello,

Does someone know if its possible to specify or customize the OOTB [metricbeat](https://github.com/elastic/cloud-on-k8s/tree/main/pkg/controller/logstash/stackmon) and [filebeat](https://github.com/elastic/cloud-on-k8s/tree/main/pkg/controller/logstash/stackmon) templates whne enabling the selfmon?

When using an external ES server the default configs don't really work, so I would like to overwrite them like we can do with the logstash ones (`config`)
