Hello, I am brand new to logstash 6.2.3 and struggling with some basics. I have installed it onto CentOS7. If I run ' **systemctl start logstash**', I get nothing output to **/var/log/logstash/** (but ' **systemctl status logstash**' reveals that it's apparently running). If I run **/usr/share/logstash/bin/logstash --path.settings="/etc/logstash"** I get logs. How can I fix it so the former operation gives me log output? My **/etc/logstash/logstash.yml** file has " **path.logs: /var/log/logstash**". Thank you ---

Turns out it was a permissions issue. All files under /var/lib/logstash were owned by root. I changed ownership to logstash and now it appears to be logging (and actually working) properly. ---
