# Logstash not picking the file after placing in the input path

Why can't you use the \_delete\_by\_query that \_elasticforme suggested?

Syed remember this isn't an SLA.. People here aren't required to assist you...

You can use the delete\_by\_query that @elasticforme suggested - Run it as a scheduled task.

You should also create your indexes so they roll over daily. E.g each day is split into a different index. This allows for much easier index management and will allow you delete your indexes older than 2 days.
